Sanjay Dutt fans are eagerly waiting his first release since he released from jail. That he trusted a relatively new director Omung Kumar, who has directed three films previously, for his comeback films, speaks a lot about his confidence in the story and the director. iKarmik, checks if this confidence is justified, by reviewing the just released trailer of Bhoomi, as part of its Bollywood coverage.
That Sanjay Dutt and action go together is a given fact, given his macho persona and a body to match. Omung Kumar, uses this side of Sanjay Dutt effectively to present a action packed revenge drama which also captures the father-daughter relationship beautifully.
Bonding: Great bonding scenes between Sanjay and Aditi Rao Hydari who plays his daughter in the film. You really appreciate the moments they both are on screen and look forward to being a part of their conversations and love for each other. They also share an excellent comic timing together. This is going to be one must watch film on Fathers days for many coming years.
Sanjay Dutt: It looks like Sanjay Dutt is focussing and releasing all his energy, from his behind the bar’s days into this performance. His eyes blaze with intensity, in all the dramatic and action scenes. Here’s a Sanjay Dutt, we bet you have never seen before.
The Plot: Seems to be the old run of the mill plot about a daughter being wronged and her father seeking revenge. Agreeing with us, even the lawyer in the film screams in court “What a story”.
Sidhant Gupta: Seems to be there just to support the lead two actors as they go about their nuances. It’s a reversal of roles, from the normal action movies in which the female leads are there only for the glamour factor and an item song.
The action scenes: The action scenes seem to be very stiff and could definitely be better, especially when you have a physically well embodied star like Sanjay Dutt with you. We definitely, expected better than just front facing stiff kicks.
