The award-winning short film ‘Hawa badlo’ starring, Vivek Oberoi, Swara Bhaskar, Kalki Koechlin, Vir Das and Govind Namdev made to create awareness for the Traffic Cops along with the message of ‘Gift A Mask’ has already gathered a lot of praises across the country.
We told you how Swara Bhaskar confessed her incident of being charged and how she felt ashamed after reading Hawa Badlo’s script. We also told you how Vivek Oberoi’s done is far more thoughtful than all of us.
Here’s another briefing from the event. Along with the founder of this intiative, Vandana Chanana (Executive Director of Corporate Communications, Gail (India) Limited) and the founder of the concept of Hawa Badlo, Nipun Arora; the entire campaign of Hawa Badlo was wholeheartedly supported by Mumbai Police. Even for the screening of the film, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Mr Milind Barambhe was present along with two head members from his Traffic Police team.
We asked Vandana Chanana, Nipun Arora and the director of this film Karmik Varma, that how did they come up with this noble thought of doing something for traffic cops and how did the celebrities get involved in this cause. Here’s what they shared.
iKarmik says, it’s really overwhelming to see that a small initiative can shape up into something so huge and appreciable with such a great team effort. An idea which started from a small room, one day; got so big that even celebrities started supporting this noble thought, wholeheartedly. We at iKarmik salute everybody associated with GAIL, Hawa Badlo and of course, the Traffic Cops without whom, this wouldn’t have been possible.
