Since the time we have known Swara Bhaskar, we are sure about one thing that she speaks without mincing her words, no matter what you ask her.
Swara is now all geared up for her latest outing ‘Anarkali of Aarah’ and is promoting this film with full-force. To those who don’t know, Anarkali of Aarah is a story of a small-town performer who sings and dances on a double-meaning songs but has her own struggles of life. Despite that, she comes out as a very strong woman who lives her life on her own will. This movie definitely comes out with a really strong message. In this film, Swara is definitely portraying a character which is never done before on-screen and we just can’t wait for it.
But, CBFC is always there to create a problem when it comes to releasing a film without any glitches. In the past we have experienced similar issues with controversies like, Udta Punjab, Great Grand Masti, which got leaked even before their release and that was really sad. They even banned the release of a women-centric film called Lipstick Under My Burkha, because the story is about women exploring their sexuality.
For this film as well, they have asked the makers for a few cuts and a frustrated Swara expressed her views about it and explained how CBFC is promoting piracy. Watch what she said, below.
iKarmik says, couldn’t agree more with you Swara! You have exactly explained how the CBFC is willy-nilly promoting piracy and this won’t stop until they don’t understand their role; which is certifying a film and not asking for cuts. Well, we hope that people like you who are fighting against it; will bring a change soon.
